THE HISTORY OF INDIAN SPACE RACE

* FROM TRANSPORTING THE PARTS OF ROCKETS AND SATELLITES ON BICYCLE AND BULLOCK-CARTS TO REACHING MARS IN ITS VERY FIRST ATTEMPT. ISRO HAD CAME ACROSS A LONG WAY.

* In the mid of 1950's as the usa and Soviet union started the famous space race. The seeds of isro were sowed by two great indian scientists(dr.homi bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai) in 1962, indian National committee for space research (INCOSPAR) was set up, with Sarabhai as its first chairperson. Slowly and steadily, INCOSPAR grew and on 15aug 1969 , it became isro.

* in its very early years, isro neither had advanced facilities nor an experienced work force. Moreover sarabhai's unexpected death left everyone in a deep shock. After that isro was spearheaded by dr.APJ Abdul Kalam and SATISH DHAWAN.

With the help of Soviet union india launched its first satellite ARYABHATTA IN 1975. The satellite was made by isro and the launch Was carried out by the USSR. 5 years later rohini became the first satellite that were launched by india in india. isro then devloped its own launched vehicles PSLV AND GSLV. Today isro holds three world records.

* The first major milestone came in 2008 when the chandrayan mission-1 discovered the water on the surface of moon. 

* Another major Highlight for isro came in 2013 when it launched the mars orbiter Mission better known as "MANGALYAAN"

When the mission was launched foreign media mocks india 

But in 2014, india became the only nation in the world to reach the MARS in its first attempt, With this isro became the fourth space agency in the world and the first in ASIA to reach the Red planet.

*  The third world record  Was made by       isro in the year of 2017. When it launched Record 104  Satellites in one Launch ! India broke  the earlier record of Launching 37 satellites in one go (held by Russia ). 

ISRO's chandrayan 2 mission was partially success. 

* MAJOR UPCOMING MISSION OF ISRO ARE: 

1st  Aditya L-1 mission to study the sun

2nd Human spaceflight mission gaganyaan 

3rd Chandrayan 3 rover and lander 

* India will always be grateful of this two gem scientists who uplifted Indian space program
